please Hear me when I say:
Seeking out help can feel hard.
You are already doing all the hard stuff, and I appreciate the bravery it takes to seek help. Especially if you are someone who tends to put others needs first. Especially if it feels like all of your energy is focused on your tiny human(s). Especially if this time of your life seems like it should be full but instead feels deeply overwhelming..
How I work
At the core of my approach to therapy is a belief that mothers do not get the support they need, or the space to talk honestly about the hard parts.
You have your baby knowing life will change, but the reality is unimaginable until it happens. It can be incredibly disorienting when your professional success and confidence don't automatically translate into motherhood. You are established in your career, you have an interesting life, and truthfully, you haven’t been new at anything in a very long time. Suddenly, you are thrust into a role where there is no manual, and no amount of hard work or strategy can control the outcome.
In sessions with me, we will stop trying to make those difficult feelings go away by ignoring them. Together, we will create a safe space to peel back the layers underneath the anxiety or sadness, examine the insidious pressures society puts on women, and find real, practical ways to make your daily reality feel manageable, supportive, and truly fulfilling.
Therapy with me is…
-
There’s no cookie cutter approach to helping you feel better. We start where you are and think about what your specific needs are. No work sheets and little to no homework.
-
Maybe you’ve been through therapy with someone who just didn’t get what you are going through. I’ve had many years of training and experience with mom’s, but I’m also a Brooklyn mom myself!
-
I have some good news! Postpartum mental health disorders are very treatable if you get help!
-
Being a parent is many things; sometimes it’s joyful and sometimes it’s devastating. I believe that we have to laugh whenever we can. I’ll probably also give you a pop cultural analogy of what you’re going through, or tell you about a tiktok video or instagram post I saw that helps make sense of what is happening. Together, we will give you a space where you can cry, laugh, and find yourself again.
